Reception

We had such a brilliant time on our school trip to ‘Imagine That’. The children had a great time and participated so well! We’re so proud of you all!

Nursery had an amazing time at Sports Day. Thankfully the weather was kind to us! Thank you to all parents and carers who came to support us.

We have been celebrating Spanish culture during Spanish Day. We have decorated flags, worn red and yellow (the colours of the Spanish flag), tried paella for snack and even had a go at some flamenco dancing! At the end of our day we learned how to count to 10 in Spanish too! See if the children can remember any of the numbers. What a fabulous day, full of learning about another country and traditional culture.

Three of Nursery’s caterpillars have emerged from their chrysalides as beautiful butterflies! We have released them into the world to continue their life cycle.  The children showed amazing care and gentleness whilst handling the butterflies and have shown curiosity and skills of scientific observation throughout.

Our children have had a brilliant time dressed as book characters and in their pyjamas, cosy for a reading session.

The children have really enjoyed this week’s activities. We have thought about our feelings, how it is ok to feel sad and angry sometimes, what those emotions look like and we even had a try at drawing our faces when we feel happy, sad and angry. We also thought about keeping safe online. To finish the week we ‘dressed to express’ and felt amazing in our clothes that make us happy.

We have had a great week celebrating Chinese New Year. This morning, we have made dragon crowns, have eaten some special Chinese food for snack and watched and joined in with some dragon dances. Thank you to the kitchen for our delicious feast.
