Little Red Riding Hood needs your help! 19.6.20

Good morning Nursery!

It is the end of another week! I hope you have all had a good week.

Little Red Riding Hood needs your help with something very important. She is struggling with her numbers and counting.

Along the path in the woods she wants to pick up some flowers for her Grandma.

Grandma has told her that she wants, 3 red, 1 purple, 2 blue and 2 pink.

Adults/children - if you could draw this amount of flowers on a piece of paper that would be great (you can choose your own colours)

It is now time to start solving some problems! Adults if you could ask your children different scenarios using the flowers to solve, for example:

  1. How many flowers will Little Red Riding Hood have to collect altogether?
  2. If you take the purple one away how many will there be in total?
  3. Little Red Riding Hood only managed to get 3 red and 2 blue, how did she get altogether?
  4. What colour flowers have the same amount?
  5. If i were to add one yellow flower to the basket, how many would there be altogether?

Good luck my mathematicians, you are the best problem solvers!

Missing you all have a a lovely weekend!
