Welcome to our Reception Class Page. Mrs Taylor, Miss Shirley and I are so excited for the year ahead. We are going to be very busy learning lots of new things and having lots of fun!

Key Information

Reading

Children will aim to read twice a week whilst in school with an adult and children’s books will be changed every Friday. Children are given a reading books to take home with their Reading Record. Please comment in the planner when you have listened to your child read. 

Homework

Reading books will be sent home weekly as well as some homework on a Friday. Please don’t feel that this homework has to be returned to school, this is just for you and your child to have a go at, at home together to consolidate their learning that they have done that week. All homework will be based what the children have learnt during that week. Homework is kept to a minimum ensuring the children are given lots of opportunity to read at home. 

Water bottles and Snack

It would be brilliant if every child has a named, water bottle in school to enable them to drink as much as possible. Snack is provided for the children in Reception so they do not need to bring in their own.

PE

Our PE day is a Tuesday. Children will need to come in to school wearing their PE kit. They will keep this on for the whole day.
