Welcome to Year 1! Myself, Miss Woods and Mrs Jewell are all here to help you. We have such a fun year ahead and I can’t wait for you to learn new things!
Key Information
Reading
Children should bring in their book bags every day with their reading book. Children are recommended to read their book a minimum of three times before they are changed so that children can build clarification, comprehension and fluency. Children are given a reading record, so if you could please comment in the planner when you have listened to your child read.
Homework
Children will be sent home with phonics spellings every week. This will be a Monday and the Children will have their test on the Friday. They may get maths homework to secure their knowledge of topics covered in class.
Water Bottles and Snack
Children are provided with a snack in school, but children are welcome to bring in their own snack from home as well as their own water bottles.
